We were so honored to have Claire M. Fraser, Ph.D. as our lecturer for our annual Women in Science event yesterday. Dr. Fraser was the first to map the complete genetic code of a free-living organism and is often referred to as the founder of the field of microbial genomics. It was a pleasure hearing her talk about the importance of our microbiomes, her personal experiences, and her advice for students interested in science.
Thank you to everyone who came to our lecture yesterday! We look forward to sharing our passion for science with you at our upcoming events, including more lunch and dessert series lectures, general member meetings, and study breaks.
